Cebu has no scarcity of beautiful places to visit. From north to south, one can never resist to visit such magnificent places. If you are in thirst to relax on the beach, and soak up some vitamin D, Cebu has a lot to offer. The island is of course surrounded by water so there is no shortage of beaches to visit.
Dubbed as the municipality with “The Longest Shoreline in Cebu”, one can really be sure that the municipality of San Remigio has resorts and beaches, here and there. Because of such title, the municipality holds its annual Lapyahan Festival every 16th of May. I would greatly suggest to visit the place during this time because many fun-filled activities and food that would you would surely want to indulge.

So, here’s a list of places that I have been in San Remigio.
1. Lapyahan
One of the go-to places of people, especially locals, to relax and bond with the family. It is open to the public so it’s highly popular there. This is where people often watch beautiful sunsets and camp out because you can put up a tent on the beach and listen for waves crashing. Bathing on the salty waters is certainly very refreshing. There is light there so going night swimming would not be a problem. Plus, it’s located at the town proper so accessing other places would not be a problem. They are also currently constructing food stalls there. I would highly recommend to bring your own tables, chairs or mats to sit on, if you don’t want to sit on the sand, since there are no available tables and chairs for you to sit on.

2. San Remigio Cultural Center and Leisure
If sitting on the ground is not your cup of tea nor sleeping inside the tent, then this place is for you. Just like at Lapyahan, it offers a front row seat on the amazing sunsets and refreshing waters of San Remigio. Here, they have rooms and cottages that you can stay in in only a small amount. If you are looking forward to waking up with the smell and the peacefulness of the sea without sacrificing comfortability, then this place would be right for you.

3. Hagnaya Beach Resort
Unlike any other place in San Remigio, Hagnaya does not have the white sand beach. But the resort has a pool and a jacuzzi that would take away all the tension that you have. It certainly is very relaxing there. It has beautiful rooms and very accommodating staff. The resort also has a place where you can fish and play sports such as basketball and table tennis. Although it’s not that near the town proper, the place would surely be a worth it place to visit.

4. San Remigio Beach Club
Like any resort, it has a massive pool that would surely be a fun place to stay to relax. It also has a white sand beach that is no stranger to beautiful sunsets. Lately, the management added new attractions to the place. They now have a wall climbing activity, labyrinths and a zipline that would be perfect for adventure seekers out there. They would also be fun activities to do with the family and maybe spark up a little competition over who’s going to get more food. It is a little far from the town proper but there are plenty of transportation that can take you anywhere you like.

5. Siri Yangu
For those people who want complete relaxation and privacy, then this place is for you. Although it is pricey, the price would be worth it. The price is high because you are renting a whole house and all facilities such as ocean kayaks, tennis court, pool, and your food will be served by their kitchen staff. And did I mention that there’s an infinity pool that looks out to the vastness of the Tañon Strait? They also have cottages on cliffs that looks out to the sea. This is the best place for relaxation and self-reflection. It’s as if you are given a chance to escape reality.

There a lot more beautiful resorts in San Remigio, some of which are not mentioned here. But nonetheless, they are good places to visit. Don’t hesitate to ask locals on where to stay as they know where are the most worth it ones.
